Just a Walk in the Park!

For one day only, during what has been known as the wettest June in history, the clouds broke and allowed the sun to shine for Compton Hospice’s Annual Sponsored Walk/Fun Run.
Over 80 people gathered bright and early on Sunday 17th June at West Park, Wolverhampton, to run, walk, jog, cycle and skate the 5 mile route.
Amongst the participants were Lynn Smith and family, who decided to complete the walk in fancy dress.

“We have been running this event for over ten years now and again it has been a huge success. The weather has been fantastic and the competitors have thoroughly enjoyed themselves”, commented Diane Gatenby, organiser of the event, she added “Our sponsored walk is a great day out for all of the family, including the dog”.
Compton Hospice would like to thank everybody who took part in this year’s event, which is expected to raise more than £6000 for the hospice.
