For the past eight years the seniors at Perton Park Golf Club and their sister club Swindon have taken it in turns to hold an annual summer fundraising event and have brought in well over £20,000 for local charities.
This year it was Perton’s turn and choosing Compton Hospice as the benefiting charity, they presented a cheque for £2400.
As well as senior members paying £10 a head to play on their own course, and paying to enter a Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive competition, the money was raised from a club raffle. Perton Seniors also organised a prize draw where tickets were sold throughout June, giving one lucky entrant the chance to win a Powakaddy Electric Golf Trolley.
Prizes for the raffle were all donated from club members, their friends and family, along with JRK Computer Supplies of Wombourne sponsoring the golf trophies.
