A generous Wolves fan has shown he is a winner in more ways than one by giving his manager of the month prize from the Express & Star’s Fantasy Football game to Compton Hospice.

Wayne Gill, 28 of Lord Street, Bradley, received a cheque for £100, courtesy of game sponsor Wickes, after topping the table in December by two points. Rather than keeping the money, kind hearted Wayne has decided to give it to the hospice.

His team Bruce Wayne – named using a combination of his name and his dog Bruce’s name – amassed 118 points during the month, beating 4,200 rivals to top spot.

Molineux season ticket holder Wayne, who works as an upholsterer, said “I wanted to give the money to Compton Hospice as my Nan was treated there about 10 years ago.

“The Express & Star’s Fantasy Football game is free to enter and I have had fun playing, so I would like to do something good with the money. Compton Hospice is a Wolverhampton charity and I am a Wolverhampton lad, so it seems the right thing to do.”
