Making a donation for a special reason
Every year hundreds of people choose to remember people special to them by making a donation to Compton Hospice in lieu of flowers. It may be that people choose to support us because they have experienced our services at first hand through the care of a loved one, neighbour, friend or work colleague. In many cases it is simply because they wish to support a very local charity, and they know their donation will be a lasting memorial to someone they have lost by helping to provide ongoing services to those so much in need.
People also choose to remember a loved one, by taking part in Light Up A Life. This is our Christmas appeal where people can sponsor a pure white light that will burn on our Christmas tree. People who support, can choose to have a name put in the Hospice's Book of Remembrance.
Sponsoring a light is also a lovely gift to buy someone as a present, a way to show that you care for them and you also care enough to help others. For more information please contact the fundraising department on 0845 2255 497 and we will send you the details nearer Christmas.
At Compton we believe in celebrating life. Something we encourage all our patients and their families to do. With this in mind we have people who very kindly choose to affirm their celebrations of life by sending donations instead of receiving gifts. We have received money from people who have asked for donations in stead of gifts for their birthday or ruby wedding anniversaries.
We here at Compton appreciate the gifts that come to us in this way, and the staff within the Fundraising Department are here to help you through the process of making such donations.
